ESG.IAMA Scientific Committee

Why a Scientific Committee?

The world of finance faces a phase of great change and entropy. Most products on the market claim to be “sustainable,” and ESG ratings are discordant. Credibility cannot disregard the ESG Identity of the entities, thus the Asset Manager itself, which must be consistent with the fund offerings. To do this, it is necessary to assess the Asset Manager as a company, it is necessary to know every aspect of it, from governance, board and policy, to investment processes, engagement, voting, and finally to the offering.

To achieve these goals, ET.Group has brought together high-profile representatives from academia, finance and industry, and promoted the establishment of the Scientific Committee, serving as an authoritative guarantor of ESG.IAMA’s principles of independence and consistency, validating the results, and performing advisory functions for the further development of the methodology and the overall project.

Its structure

The Scientific Committee is promoted by ET.Group, as the owner of the project and the database, which identifies the figure deliberated by Assofondipensione, the reference entity for Italian negotiated pension funds, and the first and main user of the ESG.IAMA standard, as the Chairman of the Scientific Committee.
