Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR announces the launch of a strategic partnership with ESG.IAMA Private, the first assessment framework focused on evaluating the sustainability of asset managers specializing in illiquid assets. This agreement aims to produce a quantitative and comparable mapping of the ESG maturity of a broad group of Italian private markets fund managers taking part in the research.
This initiative marks an important step toward greater transparency in sustainable investment practices, helping to highlight the diverse ways in which managers interpret and implement ESG criteria within their strategies.
The aggregated results of the assessment will be unveiled on 18–19 November 2025 during salone.SRI, a leading sustainable finance event hosted at Borsa Italiana and promoted by ET.Group.
Luca Testoni, Founder of ET.Group, commented: “This partnership with Fondo Italiano sends a strong message to the financial industry. It highlights the need to raise the bar in fund selection processes by integrating due diligence with a quantitative assessment of the identity of fund managers. The fact that this step is being taken by a key player in the private markets space, such as Fondo Italiano, makes it clear that this new standard is becoming a system-wide benchmark.”
“We strongly support this initiative” add Luigi Tommasini (Head of Fund of Funds and Strategic Initiatives) and Roberto Travaglino (Head of Distribution, Investor Relations & ESG) on behalf of Fondo Italiano. “It represents a significant step forward in enabling a measurable and comparative analysis of the sustainability practices of asset managers operating in Italy. The initiative can also benefit from Fondo Italiano’s extensive network, built through its investment activities in private equity, private debt, and impact investing funds.”
