The fourth edition of ESG.IAMA (ESG Identity Asset Manager Assessment), developed by ET.Group, kicked off today.

It is the first global standard for assessing the ESG Identity of Asset Managers and aims to become the international standard of reference, available to the system (Asset Owners, Pension Funds, Banks, Foundations and Corporations) to assess the sustainability of Asset Managers.

ADHESIONS
The success of ESG.IAMA has been evident with its explosive growth over the past three years. In fact, in its third edition, it has nearly tripled the number of participating international Asset Managers from 23 in 2022 to 64 in 2024. In addition, the project has also almost quintupled the weight of participants, rising in total from about eight trillion euros in assets under management (AUM) in 2022 to more than 36 trillion euros in 2024.

The success has then also been translated into the number of users, in fact ESG.IAMA is made available to Associations, Institutional Investors and Corporations to assess the level of sustainability of Asset Managers for their tenders, mandate renewals, fund selection and investor relations activities. Currently, the official users are:
– Assofondipensione
– Assoprevidenza
– Alifond
– Fondo Pensione Pegaso
– Fondo Pensione Perseo Sirio
– Previndai – Fondo Pensione
– Solidarietà Veneto – Fondo Pensione
– Bcc Risparmio & Previdenza sgr
– La Cassa di Ravenna
– Volksbank
– investRFP.com

METHODOLOGY
In this fourth edition, the questionnaire is 156 questions, 21 percent fewer than in 2024, thanks to a great deal of streamlining and optimization work completed by ET.Group’s Research Office and members of ESG.IAMA’s Scientific Committee. The Extraordinary Area, subject to change every year, focusing on topics deemed most ahead of their time, in 2025 focuses on “Business Ethics,” declined on five aspects: Business Conduct, Tax, Politics, Social and Artificial Intelligence.

NEXT STEPS
The deadline for completing the questionnaire is the end of July. Carrying out the assessment by that date allows to take part in the ESG Identity Awards, which are the first awards on the ESG Identity of Asset Managers. Also this year the Awards will be held at Borsa Italiana (Italian Stock Exchange), within the first day, by invitation only, of the salone.SRI 2025.
